17-yr-old gang-raped in moving car in Sirohi, probe begins

Jodhpur: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in a moving car on Wednesday in Sirohi . She narrated her ordeal to her parents, after which a case was filed against the two persons in Paldi M police station of the district on Thursday.SP (Sirohi) Anil Beniwal said, a case has been filed against two persons under POCSO Act along with other relevant sections and investigation has been initiated. “We have got the medical examination of the rape survivor done and have recorded her statements. Teams have been roped in to search the accused," said Beniwal.According to the complaint, the rape-survivor had been picked up from her house late night on July 2 by the two persons under the guise of inquiring some address.“They came to her house and knocked on the door. When she responded, they inquired about some address and abruptly pushed her in the car by pressing her mouth. They then took turns raping her in the moving car and dropped her at her house around mid-night in a wretched state," stated the complaint.She went to bed silently in a state of trauma and narrated the incident to her parents the next morning. Shocked parents then approached SP Beniwal, on whose direction, a case against the accused was filed in the Paldi M Police station on July 3.The accused, who belong to the same village as the rape-survivor, have allegedly been pressuring her family for compromise and offering money to hush up the case.Beniwal, however, said, police did not have any such information and assured that appropriate action will be taken if it was found to be substantiated.We also published the following articles recently
