Jodhpur: Police arrested three persons and rescued 14 camels from a farm in Agolai under Balesar police station in Jodhpur on Monday night. Two accused managed to escape. Police have seized the truck and crane used to load the camels in the truck.
Six camels had already been loaded in the truck while eight others were yet to be loaded. According to the preliminary investigation, the camels were meant to be smuggled to Haryana. SHO (Balesar) Sarika Khandelwal said that some villagers informed that camels were being loaded in a truck for smuggling in a farm of one Narayan Ram of Saiyon ki Dhani in Agolai on Monday night. “We rushed to the spot and found a truck parked in the farm with six camels cramped together,” the SHO said. tnn
