Haryana mining inspector caught red-handed for bribery

JIND: A mining Inspector in Haryana's Jind district was arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh. Mohit, an accused who is deputed as an inspector in the mining department had threatened to shut down a brick kiln and demanded a bribe from the owner. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught the inspector red-handed and recovered the bribe amount. The ACB had earlier sent the complainant with powdered currency notes to expose the inspector's corruption.

According to the complainant identified as Rajesh, he alleged that "I arrange soil at brick kiln from other sites and location. The accused mining officer threatened to shut down my brick kiln by implicating him in a false case. Subsequently, he demanded Rs 1.50 lakh to settle the issue. But I decided to send him behind the bar rather than giving a bribe to him, " alleged.
