Farmers from different villages gathered at Kisan Chowk in Kalayat town of Kaithal on Monday morning and held a march to the SDM office. After the protest, they submitted a memorandum to the tehsildar, seeking the intervention of the Prime Minister in the ongoing protest at the two borders, which has been going on for the past 11 months.

In Hisar, farmers took out a tractor march on the Delhi-Sirsa highway from the Ramayan toll plaza to the Hansi mini secretariat and later submitted a memorandum to the SDM.

In Panipat district, farmers took out a march on the Panipat-Rohtak road, in which Bajrang Punia participated and demanded a legal guarantee on crops. After the protest, they handed over a memorandum to the SDM to press their demands.

Farmers demanded that the Centre take prompt action, as SKM (non-political) President Jagjit Singh Dallewal has been on an indefinite hunger strike since November 26, and his health is deteriorating day by day.

Haryana farmers are standing firmly with Punjab farmers, and if any untoward incident occurs, major action will be taken, they added.

Meanwhile, several khaps (social clans) in Haryana, including Kandela, Majra, Gill, and others, met with Jagjit Dallewal and urged him to end the hunger strike, but he turned down the demand.

Majra Khap spokesman Samundar Phour stated that Dallewal told them that thousands of people lost their lives due to debt and 750 people died at the Delhi borders during the agitation.

"Now the time has come to take strict action, and the Modi govt will be responsible if I lose my life," Phour added.
