Jamshedpur: The vigilance officials have arrested a clerical staff of the labour department and found Rs4,000 bribe amount from him on Thursday.
The vigilance team that raided the Deputy Labour Commissioner's office caught Ashwani Kumar, head clerk, collecting a bribe of Rs 4,000 from entrepreneur Manoj Singh.
The team led by Vigilance Dy SP, P Kumar, raided the office on receiving complaint from Manoj Kumar who had earlier informed the vigilance sleuths that labour officials demanded the amount for renewing the company license.
The team also found four bank passbooks in the name of Ashwani that accounts for total deposit of seven lakh rupees.
Also, Rs 7,70,000 was found by the vigilance team from Ashwani's house. "The matter will be investigated in detail," said P Kumar.
