JAMSHEDPUR: Steel City police on Monday busted an inter-district gang of thieves involved in various house robberies and stealing vehicles from adjoining industrial towns of
Jamshedpur
and Adityapur.
Ten persons, including two women, have been arrested. Items worth several thousand of rupees were also seized from the criminals. Those arrested are residents of different police station areas of Steel City and Seraikela town.
The arrested persons have been identified as Suraj Kothwal (26), Nimai Das (19)
Vikas Verma (18), Akash Patro (20), Chotu Gope (26),
Krishna Patro (19), Akash Kumar Singh (19), Dhananjay Sonar (43),
Purnima Devi
(19) and Puja Kotwal (19).
Purnima is the wife of accused Akash Kumar Singh and Puja is the wife of accused
Suraj Kotwal
. "Further interrogation will bring to light more details relating to the theft incidents," said senior superintenent of police Anup Birthare, while addressing the media.
