Venkateswara temple inaugurated in Jammu

Jammu: It was a historic moment in the “Sanatan journey” of Jammu and Kashmir and the country, lieutenant-governor Manoj Sinha said, as he dedicated Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Jammu, built by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), to the people on Thursday.
Sinha, along with Union ministers G Kishan Reddy and Dr Jitendra Singh and TTD chairman Y V Subba Reddy, attended the Maha Samprokshanam of Lord Venkateswara (Vishnu) temple, nestled amidst the picturesque Shivalik forests in Majeen village on the city’s outskirts. After paying obeisance to Lord Balaji, the LG said the temple, among the biggest in J&K, would give a boost to spiritual tourism and a major fillip to the economic development and employment opportunities in the Union Territory. “The holy shrines of Sri Venkateswara, Baba Amarnath, Mata Vaishno Devi, Mata Sharda, Shiv Khori, Adi Shankaracharya Temple, Hazratbal and other prominent religious places and Sufi shrines will not only boost tourism, but also develop Jammu Kashmir as the cultural-spiritual capital of the country,” he said.
