Special Investigation Unit raids residences of local terrorists operating from Pakistan/POK

JAMMU: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday carried out raids at multiple locations in Gandoh area of district Doda against local terrorists who have ex-filtrated to PAK/POK in the early nineties and are presently operating from there to revive terrorism in the district.
Giving details about multiple raids conducted on Saturday, Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Abdul Qayoom said, "The raids were conducted by the Special Investigation Unit Doda in connection with FIR registered at Police Station Gandoh."
"During the operation, SIU Doda searched houses of local terrorists presently operating from Pakistan/POK namely Atta Mohd @ Adil Mubassir son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Tanta Kahara, Mohd Yasir @ Shahid son of Ghulam Mohd resident of Kunthal Tanta, Mohd Shafi @ Nadeem Bhai son of Ghulam Mohd resident of Trinkal tehsil Kahara, Amjid Ali @ Rashid son of Abdul Gani resident of Trinkal Kahara and Majid Hussain @ Abu Zahid Saqib son of Mangta Bhat resident of Manoie tehsil Chilli Pingal Gandoh."
SSP Doda Qayoom said, "All these local terrorists have ex-filtrated to PAK/POK in the early nineties and are presently operating from Pakistan and are in desperate attempt to revive militancy in District Doda by way of contacting the local youth through various virtual mode and instigate them to join militancy."
Senior police officer further added that the evidence/clues surfaced during searches /raids are being made part of the investigation of the case and further lead to identify the supporters/sympathizers of terrorists who are working as OGWs for terrorists organization will be booked.
Three days ago on May 17, the Special Investigative Unit (SIU) of Jammu and Kashmir Police raided houses of five terrorists in Kishtwar district in connection with terror support and terror funding case.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) KIshtwar Khalil Poswal the houses belonged to terrorists who are operating from foreign soil and are engaged in revival of terrorism in the region were searched across Kishtwar.
After obtaining house search warrants from NIA court Jammu in case FIR No 272/2022 registered under UAPA Act at P/S Kishtwar against terrorists Shahnawaz @ Nayeem son of Gh Mohd of Chirool Padyarna; Nayeem Ahmed @ Amir/Gazi son of Gh Nabi Gundna a resident of area near Jamia Masjid Kishtwar; Mohd Iqbal @ Bilal son of Mohd Akber Butt Kichloo Market Kishtwar; Shahnawaz Kanth @ Munna @ Umer son of Abdul Rasheed of Hullar Kishtwar and Javid Hussain Giri @ Muzamil son of Mohd Amin Giri of Kundali Pochal who are presently operating from Pakistan of Pak Occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK), the searches were conducted at their respective houses/residential premises.
Here it also needs to be mentioned that a special NIA court in Jammu had on April 26 issued non-bailable warrants against 23 terrorists from Kishtwar operating from across the border.
Earlier, non-bailable warrants were issued against 13 terrorists on March 2.
“These thirty-six individuals from Kishtwar district have gone to Pakistan/PoJK after joining terrorism over a period of time. Subsequently, separate FIRs were registered against them,” police said.
