Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday averted a major terror plan ahead of Republic Day by recovering 10.5kg of an improvised explosive device (IED) in Udhampur district.

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday averted a major terror plan ahead of Republic Day by recovering 10.5kg of an improvised explosive device (IED) in Udhampur district.
"On specific inputs, a special team conducted a patrol in Khundar Top area of Basantgarh late Sunday evening,” SSP Udhampur Vinod Kumar said.
Kumar said a case under Explosive Act and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) had been registered and further investigation had been initiated.
