JAMMU: A 55-year-old man was killed on Thursday and three others injured when a 'kacha' house suddenly collapsed in Gursai Mohri village of Mendhar in Poonch district around midnight, officials said on Thursday.
An official said, "The incident took place late Wednesday night around 2320hrs in village Mohalla, Sameel Wala Panchayat Gursai Mohri of Mendhar area in Poonch."
"Seven people were trapped under the debris," sources said, adding, "The locals and police immediately launched a rescue operation."
"The injured were later shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Surankote".
However, officials added that Reyaz Hussain Shah succumbed to his injuries while his wife Shamim Akhtar (52) two others Irfan Haider (30) and Wazif Ali (23) both sons of Mehboob Hussain Shah, were undergoing treatment at SDH Surankote.
"Amanat Ali (25) Sharafat Ali (22) both sons of the deceased and his daughter Asama Kousser (18) were discharged after first-aid.
