NEW DELHI: A woman and her two children died in a house fire in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district early Monday.
Police identified the victims as Nazia Begum, and her children, Amina and Rizwan. The fire broke out around 4.30am in Badhat-Jashar village, engulfing the house of Khursheed Ahmad.
Begum and her children were asleep inside and could not escape. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and police are investigating.
In a separate incident late Sunday night, a fire damaged a Gujjar Bakerwal boys' hostel in Chatroo, Kishtwar. No injuries were reported.
