BANDIPORA: At least 20 vehicles trapped in snow were rescued by authorities in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora, officials said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred late Monday night near Zadkhus Nallah and Razdan Top.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) collaborated with the Jammu and Kashmir police and the Bandipora district administration for the rescue operation.
According to the BRO said, "A team of Border Road Organisations (BRO), along with Jammu and Kashmir Police and District Administration in Bandipora, rescued at least 20 vehicles that were stuck in the snow near Zadkhus Nallah and Razdan Top late last night."
Snowfall has begun in higher altitude areas across the region, marking the start of winter. The BRO's Project Beacon has initiated snow clearing operations in several areas. The Bandipora-Gurez Road is currently closed due to snowfall.
