Youth found brutally murdered in rented room
Jaipur: The death of a child in a dog attack has become a political issue in Ganesh Nagar ahead of the civic polls with BJP MLA with former mayor Ashok Lahoty meeting residents of the area on Sunday and promising financial aid to the family of the victim.
Two days ago, mayor Vishnu Lahta, too, had visited the area and promised a financial support to the family. However, residents of the area claimed that nothing had been done to address the
“We are scared going out of house in the night. We are concerned more about safety and security of our children. If our children go out, we remain worried about them. The political leaders are coming to the area, but we want that our children should remain safe from stray dogs,” said Shailesh Jain, a businessman and resident of Ganesh Nagar.
In the colony, at least five incidents of dog attacks have been reported recently. “It is unfortunate that an 8-year-old boy had died after being bitten by a stray dog. Despite that, Jaipur Municipal Corporation has done nothing. Only once, the team of JMC came to catch the strays. Politicians are coming to us but where is the solution,” said Bajranj Lal Chaudhary, a resident of Ganesh Nagar.
Residents of the area are livid with the way JMC and the counsellor of the area have tackled the menace. “We have complained several times to JMC asking them to act when incidents of dog bites were reported earlier. They did not address our problem and now one boy has died of injuries suffered due to dog attack. The boy was the grandson of a priest. The politicians are visiting our area but it is not enough. They should act to resolve the issue,” said a resident of Ganesh Nagar.
