JAIPUR: A 40-year-old woman, who was into a prolonged relationship with a man, has accused him of not only raping her but also attempting to
rape her 20-year-old daughter.
Fed up with the ill-treatment of the man, the woman has lodged an FIR at the Nimbaheda Sadar police station in Chittorgarh district.
According to the complaint, the woman after the death of her husband had an acquaintance with the accused,
Abdul Latif (35).
"On Friday, we received a court complaint in which the woman alleged that Latif along with some other people barged into the house some days ago and attempted to rape the woman's daughter. The woman managed to intervene on time to stop the accused," said an officer on Saturday.
The woman in her complaint also stated that the accused had also thrashed her and her daughter. "The woman stated that she had decided to break silence against the prolonged sexual exploitation," the officer added.
Though the woman was living with the accused for a long time, she has stated that the accused made physical relationship without her permission. "She was scared and that's why she kept mum for a long time. However, when the accused attempted to rape her daughter, the woman decided to take up the matter to the court to get an FIR registered in this case," the officer added.
According to a police officer, since the woman is a dalit, an officer of deputy superintendent of police rank is investigating the matter.
"We will record the statements of the victim and her daughter and will also send the victim for the medical examination. The accused is at large and after a thorough investigation, he will also be arrested," the officer added.
