West Bengal violence: BJP protests in city

Jaipur: Furious over the violence in West Bengal at BJP president Amit Shah’s rally, state BJP held a protest in Jaipur on Wednesday. The violence broke out between the BJP and TMC workers during a road show by Shah in WB on Tuesday.

Leading the protest in the city was BJP state president Madan Lal Saini who termed the violence an ‘attack on democracy.’ “The attack shows that CM of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee is desperate to win polls. She is scared of the support Shah and the BJP has been receiving in Bengal,” said Saini who submitted a memorandum at the governor house. Saini was accompanied with MLA from Malaviya Nagar Kalicharan Saraf and former state president Ashok Parnami.

While addressing the protesters, Parnami said, “Such acts will make BJP stronger. People of Bengal will give a befitting reply to Mamta in the last phase of polls on May 19.” TNN
