" It can be safely inferred from the decision that the court wishes to maintain the situation that used to be prior to March 09. In any case we are going to seek the legal opinion and work accordingly" Joshi said.
"Even if Jaipur does not get water supply from Bisalpur water, it will not affect the daily supply during the winter season. "currently, we are only extracting 32 million litre daily (MLD) of water from the dam. We have using water judiciously keeping the summer in mind," added Joshi.
Contrary to the public perception about the water crisis the PHED says that during the winter the per capita daily demand of water in the city has been met regularly. Devraj Solanki, city circle engineer PHED, claimed "during winter the demand has been around 120 litres per capita (LPC) daily and we have been almost supplying that much. In summers it rises to 155 (LPC) for that we have been gearing up since the beginning of the year."
Meanwhile residents in some parts of city say that the water situation is getting from bad to worse and most of them have to depend on tankers.
Walled City areas like Transport Nagar, and Luxmi Narayanpuri had a fair deal on Saturday. According to a PHED engineer, the supply duration has been enhanced by 20 minutes and it will go up to 30 minutes. "We had a good supply comparatively," Krishna Mohan, a government employee from Luxmi Narayanpuri, said.
