Jaisalmer: Union minister of state for agriculture
Kailash Choudhary on his two-day visit to Jaisalmer reached the district collectorate on Monday where people have been on dharna since March 5. They are protesting allotment of pasture lands to private companies.
He repeated the demands of protesters that asked the government to reserve pasture land in each village, to give title to farmers deprived of summary settlement, to register pond lands in each village in the revenue records, to give priority in giving employment to local people in solar wind plants etc.
Later he reached 95 SLD (Sultana) village and took part in farmers’ mela organised by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jaisalmer. He said that he is committed to ensure implementation of Centre’s schemes for farmers’ welfare and prosperity. TNN
