Mother and child were discharged from the CHC while the family members were going for the burial of Ummar.
The family members said that the newly born child is the 4th son of late Ummar and Khursheedan as they already have 3 sons and 5 daughters. “Birth of a child brings lot of celebration. But nothing can’t be done when child’s father was killed. We demand from the administration for speedy justice in this matter,” said a villager.
Khan was allegedly murdered by robbers who posed as ‘gau rakshaks’. Following the burial, the Meo community have demanded to arrest rest of accused in the next five days, else they will go for a bigger protest in Alwar.
At least 1,000 people gathered at Ghatmika village in Alwar where Ummar Khan’s burial was organised. Though the local police has clearly said that Ummar and his aides were smuggling cows and were attacked by robbers, locals termed him as ‘Shahid’ and urged police to make further arrests.

A Mahapanchayat was organised after the burial in which former Congress MLA Zahida Khan and local leaders participated.
“We have demanded the arrest of rest of the accused for murder in this connection. Police should either arrest them in next five days else we will organise a protest on larger scale in Alwar town,” said Jamshed Khan a villager of Ghatmika village.
Sher Mohammed, Sardar of Meo Panchayat, said that it is high time that the state government should have some policy for the Meo dairy farmers. “If he was smuggling cows, police should have caught him and sent to jail. Nobody has right to kill anyone. We demand from the state government to have a policy to protect the Meo dairy farmers from the frequent attacks of gau rakshaks,” said Mohammad.
Umar was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the morning on November 13 when locals alleged that he was shot dead by the cow vigilantes. A joint delegation comprising of Meos and other Muslim groups demanded arrests of the accused and suspension of policemen before Ummar’s post-mortem was held on Wednesday. Police so far have arrested two persons in this connection and said that Ummar and his aides were cow smugglers and there were cases pending against them. Police said that on November, 10 both the confronting groups one led by Ummar and another led by Bhagwan Singh exchanged fire in which Ummar was killed.
