Udaipur NCC cadet wins defence ministry accolade

Udaipur: Sergeant Manan Sharma, a native of Udaipur and a cadet of the 36 Maharashtra Battalion, has been bestowed with the Raksha Mantri Commendation Card by defence minister Rajnath Singh.
As the sole Junior Division (JD) cadet nationwide to receive this distinction, Manan's recognition underscores his exemplary contributions to innovation, leadership, and national service.
Among his notable accomplishments, his innovative project AstroBott, a stargazing application crafted to render astronomy accessible, is prominent. Showcased at the Idea and Innovation Competition during Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2025, it garnered significant acclaim from Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). With aspirations aligned with India's Startup India initiative, Manan wants to develop sophisticated satellites and space drones to transform communication systems and tackle challenges like space debris management.
