JAIPUR: Two petrol pumps were ransacked and cash worth Rs 2.20 lakh was looted in Sirohi and Bhilwara districts on Tuesday late night. Police have registered cases in both the incidents. However, no one has been arrested so far.
According to reports, over a dozen unidentified armed miscreants ransacked Tirupati Filling Station in Revdar town of Sirohi late on Tuesday night.
The miscreants spread terror by pelting stones and firing in the air before thrashing the salesmen of the petrol pump. They then escaped with Rs 1.20 lakh cash from him.
Revdar police said that according to the petrol pump staff, around 15-20 people reached the petrol pump last night and opened fire indiscriminately. The miscreants thrashed employees Vinay Ram and Likharam and snatched the cash they were counting. The injured salesmen have been admitted to hospital.
In another case, three unidentified persons looted about Rs 1 lakh from Shahid Rajendra Kumar petrol pump in Mangalpura village under Pratap Nagar police station of Bhilwara district.
According to reports, salesmen Amilal and Bidhuri Singh were sleeping there when around eight miscreants barged into the premises and thrashed them with rods. After injuring them badly, miscreants looted Rs 1 lakh cash from them and fled. Both the salesmen have been admitted to hospital where their condition is said to be critical.
According to the police, the modus operandi of the miscreants in both the incidents was almost same. Hence, they are suspecting members of Kachha Baniyan' gang to be behind the loots. As the miscreants had cut the phone lines, customers informed the police about the incidents only the next day morning.
