JAIPUR: Sodala police on Thursday arrested two men for allegedly defacing PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra’s bungalow in Civil Lines on February 3.
According to DCP (South), Sodala police arrested Swadesh Sharma, a resident of Sikar and Vipul Sharma, a resident of Bharatpur district, for defacement.
An FIR in the case was filed the same day after some members of the BJP’s youth wing workers under the Rajasthan prevention of defacement of property Act.

Swadesh and others wrote “Nathi Ka Bada” using black ink on Dotasra’s bungalow. Police said the Act under which the two were arrested is a bailable offence.
Police had later deployed several men in Civil Lines to strengthen security measures. Sodala police were also searching for people who had participated in defacing the walls inside a high-security zone of the city and finally managed to catch two of them.
Police said that both Swadesh and Vipul are members of the BJP’s youth wing party, the photos of the incident were later widely circulated on social media too.
