Two tourists from Estonia, Eha Kutt (46) and her husband Vahur Estkkak (45), were seriously injured when a group of tribals mistook them for robbers and suddenly pelted stones at them on Tuesday evening near Gujarat-Rajasthan border in Udaipur district.

UDAIPUR: Two tourists from Estonia, Eha Kutt (46) and her husband Vahur Estkkak (45), were seriously injured when a group of tribals mistook them for robbers and suddenly pelted stones at them on Tuesday evening near Gujarat-Rajasthan border in Udaipur district.
The tourists, who are nature lovers and are used to travel long distances on foot, had entered a hut to fetch water when they were attacked.

They were found lying by the roadside at Laxmanpura Naal under Pahada police station. The police arrested three persons, Lalchand Bhil, Nathu and Kanti, within hours of the incident and are hunting for two more suspects.
Udaipur SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal said the couple was thirsty and entered the hut looking for water. Unfortunately an old lady who was inside the hut mistook them for robbers and screamed for help,Goyal added. The couple could not communicate with the old woman. Meanwhile, a group of men who reached the spot started pelting stones to drive the couple away.
�This had been a case of mistaken identity and not an intentional assault. However, on the complaint of the lady (Eha Kutt), we have arrested three men,� SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal said. The Estonian embassy, too, has been informed about the incident, the officer said. Police claimed the couple�s condition was stable on Wednesday.
The police took the couple to the referral hospital at Kherwada first, before shifting it to a private hospital in Udaipur late Tuesday night. A case has been registered against unnamed attackers under section 308, 323, 336, 337 and 338 of the IPC.
The couple has been in India for the last 18 days. Before coming to Udaipur, they visited Delhi, Srinagar, Jammu, Bikaner and Dungarpur. They started off on foot from Dungarpur to Udaipur along the Rajasthan-Gujarat border and reached Kanbai village in Kherwada tehsil.
