KOTA: Nineteen-year-old Kapil Gotam of Naner village in Tonk, known for truck drivers, has scripted a success story which has no match in the entire village. Gotam scored 444 AIR in AIPMT to fulfill his father’s dream who died a month before his exam.
“My father, Kailash Chand Gotam, a truck driver by profession, prompted and supported me to come to Jaipur and take coaching for AIPMT.

He arranged funds for my studies from different places,” said Gotam.
He has to drop out of coaching for 15 days to perform post death ceremonies and customs. “My grandmother came with me to Jaipur so that I can focus on my exams. She would counsel me and ensures that I study,” said Gotam, who missed AIIMS exam due to his father’s death. “I would like to study from SMS medical college in Jaipur as from here I can frequent my family. I will also look for ways to support my family which is financially down after the demise of my father,” said Gotam, who is now preparing for counselling.
His biggest worry is to support his younger brother who is also taking coaching for AIPMT exams. “I will find some way or the other to fund his studies, as we are left with no savings at all,” said Gotam.
