JAIPUR: Two persons, both insurance executives died when the bike on which they were traveling collided head-on with a speeding car near Chomu House Circle in the city on Friday. The incident occurred while they were on way to office. Police said the road was slippery due to early morning drizzle and the car was coming from the opposite direction. Meanwhile, a charted accountant student was also killed when the bike he was riding collided head-on with another bike on MI Road near Panchbatti Circle on Friday.
The family members of the three deceased decided to donate the eyes of thier beloved after the postmortem.
According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Sunil Kumar Agrawal (34) and Sonika Vijayvargiya (24). "Sunil is a resident of Shastri Nagar while Sonika lived near Kalwar Road in Jhotwara. Both used to work in the same insurance company, but had recently taken up jobs in different companies," said Rajendra, investigation officer.
Police said that on the road leading to Roadways depot near Chomu House Circle, a car coming from opposite direction hit the bike and ran over them. "Some of the eye-witnesses said that the road was slippery due to which the bike had lost control. However, others said the car was over-speeding and hit the motorcycle," said Rajendra.
The police said the car was a Honda City, but they are yet to trace it. "We put up barricades to stop the car, but we were informed very late," said police. They added that they were informed about the incident only when the bodies had been taken to SMS Hospital by a 108' ambulance.
The identification of bodies was made on the basis of the registration number of the bike which was owned by a friend of Sunil.. "He had given his car for service on Thursday and borrowed the bike from his friend," said a family member. Sunil was married and is survived by two children.
In another incident, the deceased - Kalpesh Jain - was going to a CA office on MI Road where he was doing his internship. His bike collided with another bike and Kalpesh was seriously injured. He was rushed to SMS Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
