Teenage couple ends life by jumping before train in Jaipur

girl, said to be relatives, allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a train in Bassi area on the outskirts of the city on Saturday. The boy – a class X student and the

girl

, were missing from their respective homes since Friday. Police sources said that the two were into a relationship and knew that their families would not accept it. They probably took the extreme step depressed over this, a police officer said.

The 18-year-old boy was a resident of Motihala area in Bassi, while the girl belonged to Surajpura area in Dausa.

“We have come to know that both were into a relationship; however, they were afraid to tell their family members about it, because they knew they would accept it. We believe it depressed them and they decided to end their lives,” said a police officer.

The police are trying to trace where they stayed on Friday after they both left their homes without telling their family members.

“They came to Bassi and jumped before a train. A team was rushed to the spot an d the mutilated bodies were sent for a postmortem examination. We have recovered a laptop, some jewellery and ID cards from the spot. However, no suicide was recovered,” said the officer.
