"They had left home for Sanganer for some work. Harshvardhan was driving the bike, while Ashok was sitting behind him," said a police officer.
A truck hit the bike from behind. "It seems the truck was overspeeding. Ashok was thrown onto the road after the collision and sustained serious injuries on his head. He died on the spot. Some passers-by informed the police," said the officer. A police team and ambulance was immediately rushed to the spot.
Harshvardhan and Ashok were taken to a hospital. Ashok was declared brought dead. "Harshvardhan's condition is stated to be serious, but stable. Ashok's body was handed over to the family members after postmortem," said the officer.
The officer added that the truck has been seized and an FIR has been registered against the driver. "A search has been launched for him. Prima facie it seems that rash and negligent driving by the truck driver resulted in the tragedy," said the officer. The family members were inconsolable and in a state of shock.
