Jaipur: The strike by the garbage collection company in JMC-Greater has ended but hoopers are still not reaching in most areas on time. Despite complaints by residents and councillors of Jagatpura,

Jhotwara

and

Sanganer

, the vehicles are either not coming to their wards or covering the entire area.
Ward 10 councillor

Narendra Singh

said company workers were not collecting garbage and when asked they still maintained that the strike was on. “In half of the wards, hoopers are not going door-to-door. Company workers also claim that their strike was still on going as their bills were not cleared by the corporation,” said Singh.
Some residents have started throwing garbage bags on roads and empty plots. The situation has boiled down to a situation that contractual sanitation workers of the company were charging money to dump trash.
Jhotwara resident Prakash Saini said workers were charging Rs 200 to collect garbage bags from homes. He said hoopers haven’t come to their colony for the last two weeks and they were forced to pay the workers to lift garbage. Such complaints were received from several parts of the city and officials were doing little to resolve this.
Ward 128 councillor Subash Chandra said vehicles were not coming at all.
