JAISALMER: Jaisalmer and Barmer districts in Rajasthan continued to experience heavy rainfall and storms due to western disturbances originating in Pakistan.

On Monday night, a fierce storm hit Jaisalmer, resulting in rainfall for 4.5 hours. The rain started at 1:30 am and ceased around 6 am, recording 77mm of rainfall, which was the highest in Rajasthan. Earlier in May, 110mm rainfall was recorded.

So far, the total stands at 187mm, surpassing the average rainfall of 165mm. In Barmer, numerous electricity poles have fallen, causing power outages in several villages.

The Gadisar Lake received such a significant amount of water overnight that it is now overflowing. The storm caused walls to collapse in various areas, along with a large number of trees and electricity poles.
