JAIPUR: Rajasthan government, on Monday, announced

scale in line with Seventh Pay Commission for teachers, librarians and physical education directors of five agricultural universities and a veterinary science university in Rajasthan. Universities’ employees have been demanding the pay scale for a long time.

Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday approved the proposal for the new pay scale, payable with effect from January 1, 2017.

Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University

(SKRAU) both in Bikaner, Maharana Pratap University for Agriculture and Technology in Udaipur, Agriculture University in Jodhpur, Agriculture University in Kota and

Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University

(SKNAU) in Jobner. Dean of SKN Agriculture College, Gopal Bangarwa while talking to TOI expressed his pleasure after the news. “This is positive news. I have been receiving phone calls after this announcement was made. It is a much awaited decision for the fraternity of agriculture and we are thankful to the government.”

The decision came after many recommendations made by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. As per the announcement, arrears will be paid for January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2018 in the current financial year and the funds will be deposited in the provident fund accounts.
