Six arrested for poaching 23 spiny lizards at DNP
JAISALMER: The forest department arrested six persons for poaching 23 spiny
During lockdown, poaching cases in India has gone up by 151%, as per a report released by international organisation TRAFFIC. The Jaisalmer district too seems to have become a hotspot for poachers.
Deputy conservator of forest Kapil Chandrawal said the DNP staff arrested six persons for hunting spiny-tailed lizards inside the sanctuary near Matuo ki Basti in Jaisalmer range. Park officials got a tip-off from an informer and a team was formed to nab the accused.
