Rajasthan: Sister-in-law, boyfriend arrested for cop’s murder

JAIPUR/KOTA: A badly decomposed body of a 28-year-old missing constable was recovered from Sawai Madhopur district on Wednesday morning. The police have arrested the victim’s sister-in-law Shyama Sharma (19) and her boyfriend Naved Rangrez (26) for the crime.
The Bundi police said that an illicit love affair gone sour between constable Abhishek Sharma and Shyama Sharma was the main reason behind the murder. Sharma was posted with Bundi police and had gone missing from his house on August 28 this year.
A missing person report (MPR) was filed by Bundi police and a special team led by a deputy SP (DSP) official was formed to track him down. The subsequent investigation including call data record (CDR) examination led to the police zeroing in on Shyama, a cousin of Abhisehk’s wife. The police later also suspected the involvement of Shayma’s friend Naved, both residents of Sawai Madhopur district.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that both Abhishek Sharma and Shyama had a brief illicit affair when she had visited him in Bundi earlier this year. Abhishek’s wife Divya had on multiple occasions objected to Shyama’s relationship with Abhishek due to which there were regular quarrels between the couple to the extent that both decided to file for the separation.
Around the same time, Abhishek repeatedly cajoled Shyama to get married with him. Shyama, on the other hand, was already involved in another relationship with Naved, a youth who lived in the same village.
After a certain point when Abhisekh’s pressure for marriage became unbearable, Shyama decided to kill him with the help of her boyfriend Naved. As per the plan, she called Abhishek to come to Sawai Madhopur on August 28, where Naved and Shyama killed him with an iron pipe and buried his body into a pit.
The duo was arrested on Wednesday while Abhisekh’s body was handed over for the final rites after the post-mortem.
