AJMER: An ACB team from Ajmer on Saturday afternoon caught red-handed SHO of Ladanu police station
Naresh Sharma of nearby Naguar district while taking a bribe of Rs 2 lakh in a land dispute case. He handed over the bribe to ASI Rewata Ram who was also arrested. An ACB team conducted raids at SHO's house in Jaipur's Malviya Nagar.
According to sources, Nirmal Bhartiya of Sujagargh had a land in Ladanu and there was a dispute related to land.
A case was lodged in the police station and Nirmal demanded action in this matter. According to Nirmal, SHO Sharma demanded Rs 3 lakh to settle the dispute of the land. "I arranged the money and gave to SHO Naresh Sharma but afterwards he demanded Rs 2 lakh more," said the complaint.
The complainant on Saturday again arranged Rs 2 lakh and made a complaint to ACB office of Ajmer. ASP Karni Singh Rathore started investigation and laid a trap to arrest the SHO. When Nirmal handed over the money, the ACB team caught both SHO Sharma and ASI Rewata Ram. "We have lodged a complaint against both and arrested them," said Rathore.
Sources said that when Nirmal affirmed for giving Rs 2 lakh yesterday, SHO Sharma's greed increased and asked for Rs 2 lakh more after the second deal.
