Scorching heat across Rajasthan, mercury to rise more
The Met office said that heat wave conditions will aggravate in the state in the next couple of days.
People in Jaipur woke up to a comparatively warmer morning when a minimum temperature of 29.8°C, which was 2.1°C above normal, was recorded. It was followed by a scorching afternoon with a maximum temperature of 44.1°C. Roads were empty in the afternoon as people were confined to their homes and offices.
The rising temperatures have increased cases of heat stroke at various hospitals in the city. “The footfall of daily patients coming with complaints of heat stroke has increased in the past few days,” said a doctor at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital on Thursday.
Sriganganagar was followed by Barmer where a maximum temperature of 46°C was recorded. Next were Jaisalmer with 45.5°C, Churu 45.3°C, Vanasthali, Pilani and Jalore 45.1°C each, Sangariya and Jodhpur 44.6°C each, Dholpur and Fatehpur 44.5°C, Karauli 44.4°C, Bikaner and Alwar 43.8°C each, Bharatpur 43.5°C, Bhilwara 43.3°C, and Ajmer 42.7°C.

Delhi experienced a minimum temperature of 25.8C on Sunday, reported by the IMD. The humidity level was 53% with no rainfall. AQI was 'moderate' at 198, indicating fair air quality in the city.
Mumbai records highest day temperatures in a decade
IMD Colaba observatory recorded highest day temperatures in a decade at 37.6 degrees with a heatwave warning due to easterly winds and clear skies. Santacruz observatory recorded 37.2 degrees, the second highest, with no rain activity despite forecasts of light to moderate rains. IMD Mumbai scientists mentioned the reason for heatwave warning.
