RU to start new courses, increase seats
Jaipur: Ahead of the new academic year, Rajasthan University Monday issued an order changing seats for different courses as per decisions taken in the syndicate meeting held in Oct 2024.
The order, issued by additional registrar Raj Kumar Jain, states that 80 seats will be added in the Three/Four Year BSc (Maths Group) and Three/Four Year BSc (Maths) course in University Maharani College. For MSc Geology, five seats will be increased over the existing 10 seats.
For undergraduate Statistics and Applied Statistics courses at Maharani College, there will be 40 seats in place of 20. In Maharaja College, BSc (Statistics) will be introduced with 60 seats. In Rajasthan College, BA (Applied Statistics) will be introduced with 30 seats.
In MA/MSc (Statistics), 20 seats will be added to the existing 30 seats. For MSc (Chemistry), a total of 60 seats will be kept with 50 for regular students and 10 as self-financed.
"PG programmes in which the number of applicants was less in previous years may be exempted from the entrance test. Admission to these programmes will be made on a merit basis from the next academic session. All the constituent colleges/teaching departments are directed to take necessary action accordingly…" states the order.
