JAIPUR: Five unidentified miscreants barged into a house of a property dealer, Pawan Kumar Shah, in Shyam Nagar locality and looted cash and jewellery worth over Rs 3 lakh late on Monday night. Police have registered a case against the miscreants while efforts are on to nab them.
According to the police report, five miscreants barged into the house after breaking the window grill while Shah; his wife, Rupali, two children, Sahil (12) and Lavanya (2) and Bharat Bhusan Ahuja, a guest from Delhi, were sleeping.

The miscreants warned all the family members of dire consequences if they resisted and took almirah keys from them, locking them in a room after threatening them with a knife.
During the incident, the miscreants warned Rupali not to raise an alarm, otherwise they would kill her and the children. When Ahuja tried to resist they manhandled him and tied him up.
Shah said that the miscreants had one screw driver only, but they managed to pick up two knives, a cricket bat and an iron rod from kitchen to terrorize the family. They were speaking in Bengali and looked like domestic helps in the colony. He also said that miscreants had apparently spying on him, as they knew details about his property, including plots he owned."One of the miscreants told him that they have been informed about his wealth," said Shah. He added that they used the term 'Didi', which is often used by the Bengali maids, working in the locality.
Circle officer Rajendra Singh told TOI that according to the Shah family, the miscreants took away six gold rings, two ear-rings, a necklace, Rs 2,000 in cash and other valuables worth Rs 3 lakh. A finger print unit and a dog squad was sent to the spot. The police have questioned several Bengali people in the locality. He said that the police got some clues from the spot, it is hoped that the miscreants would be arrested soon.
Meanwhile, Shyam Nagar SHO Bhanwar Lal said that the police have launched checks at entry and exit points in an attempt to catch the criminals.
He also said that police are looking for a Bengali carpenter, who had worked at Shah's house four months ago.
