Road rage: Man who stabbed youth in Jaipur arrested
Jaipur: A man who stabbed a youth in Bindayaka area of the city because the latter rebuked him for speeding on the wrong side of a road on Wednesday was arrested on Friday, said police.
DCP (West) Amit Kumar said the identity of the accused has been withheld pending a test identification parade. "We received a complaint from Mahendra Meena, who alleged that he was stabbed late on Feb 5 evening when he and his nephew, Rohit Meena, were returning home from a wedding. They said they encountered a man coming from the wrong side near Prabhat Market on Bhankrota Road. When they confronted him, the man stopped and attacked Rohit with a knife, aiming for his neck," said Kumar.
Even though Rohit swiftly shifted his neck to evade the attack and defend himself, the attacker continued to strike his shoulder, causing several injuries and bleeding. The pair, however, managed to escape and alerted police immediately.
A police team arrived on the scene and rushed Rohit to a hospital. The accused was arrested based on the registration number of his scooter as informed by the complainant duo. The scooter used in the crime was recovered from the possession of the accused.
