Rights commission imposes penalty of Rs 25,000 on PHED

JAIPUR: The state human

rights commission

has directed the

PHED

department to pay the benefits of pay fixation on 27 years of service, due to an employee for the last four years, within three months with arrears and a penalty of Rs 25,000.

The order said if the department again fails to comply with its orders, the principal secretary PHED, chief engineer (administration) and PHED would be responsible for human rights violation of the employee and the the penalty will be increased to Rs 50,000 said the order by

The commission said the department has been denying him the benefit due to inherent deficiency in the system, inertia or callousness.

Despite several reminders and directions the department has been delaying compliance on trivial grounds, the commission noted.
