JAISALMER: The Bikaner police, along with the Border Security Force (BSF), detained a 64-year-old retired CRPF constable
Mumtaz Hussain for questioning after he was found near prohibited areas near international border.
The cops had intercepted Hussain, a resident of Jammu and
Kashmir, near international border (IB) in Khajuwala in Bikaner on Monday night. The cops said that he was quizzed on the spot by the BSF, but he couldn't give any satisfactory answer, following which he was detained and handed over to the Khajuwala police station.
“He was detained on Monday night and will be quizzed by the special teams of Intelligence Bureau and BSF,“ said
Vikram Singh, station house officer, (SHO), Khajuwala police station.
Primary probe suggests that he was collecting donations for building a shrine. A few days ago, two people of J&K were also caught while collecting donations in Ramzan time in Jaisalmer on June 7. Sources within Border Security Force (BSF) told TOI that Hussain was in Bikaner for the past few days and roaming in prohibited areas in the region.
