Retired IAS officer kicked, punched by bus conductor over tiff in Jaipur
JAIPUR: City police have initiated an investigation after a shocking video surfaced on social media showing a retired IAS officer being physically assaulted by a bus conductor after a heated argument.
Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) has issued an order to suspend the conductor with immediate effect.
As per SHO, Kanota, Uday Yadav, the incident occurred on Friday when retired IAS officer RN Meena from Gujarat cadre, was travelling on a bus from Jaipur to Nayla. According to police, the dispute allegedly began when the bus did not halt at the destination for which Meena purchased a ticket.
The video, recorded by a fellow passenger, captures the disturbing moment when the conductor, identified as Ghanshyam Sharma, kicked and punched Meena after the he objected to being dropped off at the wrong stop. The argument reportedly escalated over a fare dispute, with Meena refusing to pay an additional charge demanded by the conductor.
The altercation turned physical when the conductor verbally abused and assaulted Meena, pushing him, kicking him, and continuing the assault inside the bus.
"We have registered an FIR regarding the alleged assault. The video of the incident has gone viral. We also sought additional information from JCTSL about the incident," said an official, adding that investigation is being conducted to ascertain what transpired in the bus.
"We will record statements of the victim. Teams have been dispatched to detain the conductor and question those responsible for the assault," said an official, adding that the bus details, including its registration number and designated route destination, are also being sought as part of the investigation.

No violence is justified by anyone against anyone. But, I need to tell one incident of an 2 different IAS officers. I was contesting Lok Sabha election from Jaipur rural Parliamentary constituency as an independent candidate in 2014. I was one among 12 candidates. I knew that, there was no chances to win against BJP heavyweight candidate Rajyavardhan Rathore due to Modi wave and C. P. Joshi who was still a cabinet minister in MMS government. I freshly came from Switzerland giving up my carrier there thinking, I can make a difference with what, I learnt in world's most vibrant democracy. For every important law and decision concerning nation and citizens in Switzerland, every few days or months, referendum is done and if 51% citizens vote in favor, then only, the law and decision comes in existence. However, when, I entered in electoral officer's chamber, which was a district collector of IAS Cadre. He treated me as nobody, however, my lawyer team did, all formalities to file the candidacy. After, all this over, I need to get signature of another IAS officer, who made me wait at his door for more than 2 hours. Finally, I lost my patience and entered in his chamber and asked him to sign, which was just a formality to permit me the use of vehicles for campaign. So these IAS IPS, IRS, IFS are not holy cows, when in power and after power, 95% of them ill treat common man. May be this retired man was right or wrong, but, if you are a ordinary citizen, you are a nobody for these people. Same was an IFS officer as vice consular at Indian Consulate in Geneva told me, how, I could reach to Switzerland. They misbehave with fellow countrymen in respective countries, where they are posted to facilitate work for Indian citizens. I will say, Karma awaits them, while in power or post retirement. If any such officer is reading my comment, I will suggest, be good and help people for their rightful work, for which you taken the oath under constitution and paid heavily, or Karma will catch-up with you, sooner then later.Read allPost comment
