Restaurants checked in Ajmer for ‘illegal activities’

Ajmer: Police along with a team of Ajmer Municipal Corporation (AMC) Monday evening carried out an inspection of three restaurants in Christian Ganj area of the city. The inspection was done in the wake of the Bijaynagar case where restaurants and cafes were allegedly used to target minor girls from the Hindu community.Police said that in one of the three restaurants inspected, cabins had been made, for which a notice was served on the owner. "The team from AMC is checking whether restaurants have modified their halls, and we are ensuring that no illegal activities are going on inside," said a police officer. He added, "The drive is a preventive action after the Bijaynagar case came to light, to ensure safety of girls who are going to such restaurants."
