“My daughter was brutally beaten up by the rapist; she suffered injuries on her head and ribs,” he told TOI at JK Lon Hospital, where the minor is undergoing treatment.
While sitting in a chair outside surgical ICU, where the girl is undergoing treatment, this bearded man was looking disturbed. While narrating the ordeal of his daughter, he said, “When she returned home she was writhing in pain. The brave girl, who was dumped by the rapist at Shastri Nagar’s Pani Ki Tanki area, walked on her own back home by covering at least half-a-kilometre distance.”
“She went missing from outside house around 7.30pm and did not return home till 9:30pm. We all were worried. We informed the police but around 9.35 pm, she was home in serious condition,” he said. “From her appearance, it looked that she was tortured brutally at a place full of sand. She told us that the unidentified man wearing a helmet and riding a bike threatened to kill her if she did not go with him,” he said.
Following the incident, people of the area came out on the road demanding immediate arrest of the accused. “There were rumours that my daughter has died. I made an announcement from the mosque that she is alive, to calm down the protesting people.”
