Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi's murder: NIA conducts searches in Haryana and Rajasthan

NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at 31 locations in Haryana and Rajasthan on Wednesday in connection with the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. The raids are going on at the suspects' locations, as the NIA teams, in close coordination with the state police forces, gather evidence for the case.

Last month, the Central agency registered the case following orders from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The decision to take over the case was made due to the alleged involvement of high-profile gangsters in the murder.

The Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena (SRRKS) president was shot dead on December 5 at his residence in Jaipur by three shooters.

Gangster Rohit Godara, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for Gogamedi's murder soon after the incident. Two of the shooters, Rohit Rathore and Nitin Fauji, were arrested in Chandigarh on December 9. During the investigation, they revealed that it was Godara who had ordered the murder. Further inquiries also revealed that the shooters were in contact with Godara's close aides, Virendra Chahan and Danaram, while on the run.

The motive behind the murder is suspected to be a dispute between Godara and Gogamedi over the collection of ransom from businessmen. In connection with the case, a woman who allegedly provided weapons and arranged accommodation, along with her husband, has also been arrested. Unfortunately, one of the shooters died during the firing.

The CCTV footage captured the incident, showing two men firing multiple shots at the Karni Sena chief, while another man stood at the door. Gogamedi collapsed on the floor due to the gunshot injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead. Tragically, one of Gogamedi's security personnel, who was injured in the incident, also succumbed to his injuries.

The NIA's searches aim to gather crucial evidence related to the murder case. As investigations continue, the agency remains committed to uncovering the truth behind Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi's untimely demise.
