‘Rajasthani artists neglected at RR’
Jaipur: Padma Bhushan awardee and Grammy winner Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt wrote a letter to CM Bhajan Lal Sharma on Saturday to complain that Rajasthan Forum, a cultural organisation, was not consulted when planning the Rising Rajasthan summit's cultural events.
Bhatt said the Rajasthan Forum includes several eminent artists, including Padma awardees Devendra Jhajharia, Anwar Khan Manganihar, Gulabo Sapera, Ram Kishore Chhipa, S. Shakir Ali, Tilak Gitai, Munna Master, and C P Dewal. In his letter, Bhatt expressed concern over the absence of cultural traditions of the state, such as Dhrupad music, Kathak dance, and folk art, at RR summit. He said gnoring these traditions reflected a disregard for the cultural heritage of Rajasthan. tnn
