Rajasthan trader ends life after killing wife, 3 children

Jaisalmer: A gems trader allegedly hanged his wife and three teenage children before ending his own life with poison in Bikaner over debt-related stress, police said on Thursday.

Initial probe indicated that Hanuman Soni (45), Vimala (40), their sons Mohit (18) and Rishi (16), and daughter Gudiya (14) probably died two days back at their rented home, but the bodies were found on Thursday when the landlord reached the house to collect rent.

Bikaner SP Tejashwi Gautam said Soni had ingested a poisonous substance after hanging his wife and children. The bodies have been kept in a local hospital. Police are questioning the neighbours.
