Rajasthan shocker: Car driver dozes off, rams into trailer truck; 5 killed
JAIPUR: Five people, including a woman, were killed in a road accident in Rajasthan’s Chaksu on Saturday morning after a car rammed into a trailer truck on the Kota-Jaipur National Highway (NH-52), police said.The accident took place near Tigariya turn in Chaksu when the car, which was travelling from Madhya Pradesh to Jaipur, collided with a trailer truck moving ahead. The crash allegedly occurred after the driver fell asleep at the wheel, Chaksu SHO Manohar Lal Meghwal said, according to news agency PTI.

The collision was so intense that four occupants of the car, including a woman, died on the spot. Another critically injured youth later succumbed to his injuries while being taken to hospital, the SHO informed, adding that all the deceased were residents of Madhya Pradesh.Traffic on the national highway was temporarily affected following the accident. Local police and the accident response team reached the scene soon after receiving information about the incident.The bodies have been kept in the mortuary, and the damaged vehicles were cleared with the help of a crane to restore traffic, SHO Meghwal added.
