JAIPUR: Those who survived the fatal crash near Sribalaji in

Nagaur

district continues to be in shock. Six injured, who are undergoing treatment, are also suffering from brain fog as they are unable to recall what had exactly happened after seeing several bloodstained bodies and hues and cries at the hospital.

Gopal (55), a native of Sajjangarh village in

Ujjain

district of Madhya Pradesh, who was sitting in the rear of the MUV, was loitering around in a dazed condition after firstaid at PBM Hospital in

Bikaner

. After almost an hour of the accident, he was informed that his wife Sajjan Bai (52) was among the 12 who died in the accident.

“My wife was missing and I was anxious though blood was oozing out of my head. People who were present including police sent me to the hospital where I searched for my wife. After an hour, I was told that she was no more,” he said.

“Our driver Santosh was in the middle of the road while trying to overtake another vehicle. For a moment I thought he would be able to overtake. Within a few seconds, the crash happened. I saw all those sitting in the cruiser got trapped as the driver’s side was badly damaged,” said Gopal.

“While I was taken to PBM Hospital, I was informed that my wife also died,” said Gopal.

Santosh, his son and a girl aged around 6 years were among the injured.

“Within 15 minutes of the accident, police and locals came to the spot,”he added.

He added that the group was going towards Pushkar after visiting Ramdevra temple in Bikaner.

In the evening, he rushed to his native village with the body of his wife. “Sab rishteydaar theey (All our relatives were there),” he summed up in a choked voice.
