Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot to lead anti-CAA rally in Jaipur today

JAIPUR: City police have prepared extensively for the protest by the Congress, members of the minority communities and civil societies on Sunday in Jaipur. Mobile internet will be suspended from 6 am to 8 pm, while liquor stores will remain closed for the whole day, said officials. Metro services will remain suspended from 8 am to 2 pm.
Additional forces will be deployed in the city and around 100 drones will be used for aerial surveillance.Teams of police personnel headed by senior officials will be keeping a watch on the rally which would be led by chief minister Ashok Gehlot.
Ajay Pal Lamba, additional commissioner of police, said, “The people participating in the peaceful protest will gather on Moti Doongri Road at around 10 am. From here, they will march from Museum Road and reach Albert Hall from where the rally will go to Gandhi Circle. At this point, the rally will convert into assembly and after addresses from various people, it will be concluded.”
To prevent any untoward incidents, 13 IPS officials, 115 RPS officials, 230 CIs and 7,000 constables will be deployed in the city. “We will be monitoring each individual who will be participating in the peace march through CCTV cameras and videography. Drones are being used in sensitive areas and surveillance using them started on Saturday itself. Officials from Central and state agencies in plainclothes have been deployed to keep a watch as to prevent any unwanted incidents,” added Lamba.
Various social media platforms are also being monitored and Abhay Command Centre is also keeping a strict vigilance. Apart from this, 18 Quick Reaction Teams (QRT), four Emergency Response Team (ERT), four Special Task Force (STF) teams and 12 companies of Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) have also been deployed. Every strategic point will also forces to prevent/ contain riots which will be equipped with water cannons and horse mounted cops amongst others.
“Common citizens will not face any problems due to the peace protest but we would still appeal to the locals to refrain from rumour mongering. Immediate action will be taken against found to be indulging in this,” said the official.
