Rain, hailstorm continue to lash western, northern Rajasthan
A rainfall of 84.7 mm was recorded in Jaisalmer which is unusual in the month of October. Last time in Jaisalmer, a rainfall of 23.4 mm was recorded on October 4, 2019.
At many places electricity supply was also disrupted due to rainfall in Jaisalmer and nearby areas.
Likewise mild to moderate showers were witnessed at Churu, Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Jodhpur, Sikar and Pilani districts of the state.
At Jaisalmer, hailstorms were seen at Ramdevra, Bhaniyana, Lathi, Deva and other villages. In many areas gwar and groundnut crops suffered damages.
Due to continued rainfall, mercury took a dip across the state, as there was a drop of almost 4 degree Celsius in the minimum and maximum temperatures across the state.
A few places in the outskirts of Jaipur including Bagru, Bassi, Jobner and Hathoj witnessed mild showers.
Also in the afternoon weather was mainly pleasant as a maximum temperature of 30.4 degree Celsius was witnessed.
Sirohi remained coldest in the state where a minimum temperature of 15.6 degree Celsius was recorded, the met reports said.
The Met office further stated that mild showers will continue in the state at many places in western and eastern parts on Wednesday. Mercury is likely to take further dip in the state.
IndiGo announces new connections to Jaisalmer and Jharsuguda.
IndiGo has announced the commencement of flight operations in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Starting from October 12, Jaisalmer will be connected to Delhi, and from October 29, it will be connected to Mumbai, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad. The airline also announced connectivity to and from Jharsuguda in Odisha, with flights to Kolkata starting from November 5 and to Bengaluru from November 15. These new routes aim to enhance mobility, accessibility, and interstate connectivity, benefiting both tourists and business travelers.
Delhi records lowest maximum temperature in October this year
Delhi experienced an unusually cool day with a high temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius, seven degrees below the October average. The city received 5 mm of rainfall, resulting in a drop in the minimum temperature. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was at a "moderate" level in the morning but improved to a "satisfactory" level by the evening. The weather forecast for the day included a generally cloudy sky. The previous day had a maximum temperature of 30.5 degrees Celsius, three degrees lower than average.

Delhi's air quality remains moderate with an AQI reading of 135. The minimum temperature dropped slightly to 19.4 degrees Celsius. The AQI scale categorizes air quality from good to severe plus. Relative humidity in the capital is 81 percent. Clear skies are predicted throughout the day.
