A five-month pregnant woman was held hostage and beaten for dowry by her in-laws under the Sheo police station area of Barmer district.

JAISALMER: A five-month pregnant woman was held hostage and beaten for dowry by her in-laws under the Sheo police station area of Barmer district. The woman's brother-in-law has been arrested and she has been referred to Jodhpur in serious condition.
Two days ago, the woman's parents got this information and they came to the in-laws' house with police and after rescuing her, admitted her to a hospital in Barmer.

The woman was kept hostage in Barsinga village under Sheo police station area. She was kept thirsty and hungry and also beaten badly due to which she aborted the child.
The woman's brother Amrit Lal, resident of Judvia village, has lodged a case in which he stated that his sister Teejo was married 12 years ago to Tejaram resident of Barsinga. After some time of marriage, she was being beaten up by her in-laws, but people persuaded them and the matter was settled. A few days back, Teejo was again beaten up and locked in a room, due to which her condition deteriorated.
A case has been lodged against Deeparam, Tejaram, Nimbaram, Kailashram, mother-in-law Kasturi, sister-in-law Kamla for beating, mentally harassing and holding the woman hostage.
