JAIPUR/JAISALMER: Rumours are ripe that the biggest haul of drugs in the state wherein 58 kg of heroin was seized from a place near Mohangarh in Jaisalmer on September 17 was actually seized from the house of Yar Mohammad, situated in Bhagu Ka Ganv, almost 80 km from Mohangarh.
Local BJP leaders alleged on Thursday that the reason behind this shifting was political pressure on the police to avert disrepute which recovery of the heroin from Bhagu Ka Ganv could have brought to the local MLA as he is a relative of the accused.

They alleged that the police was forced to show the recovery from Chak no 2 BLM Sarhad Sadrau, about 20 km from Mohangarh, instead of Bhagu Ka Ganv where Yar Mohammad had actually hidden the consignment.
"The police had recovered the consignment of 58 kg of heroin from Yar Mohammad's house in Bhagu Ka Ganv. But as he is a close relative of the local MLA, on record the recovery was shown from a place near Mohangarh," Jugal Kishor Vyas, BJP's Jaisalmer district president, claimed while talking to TOI.
Demanding an independent inquiry into the facts, he further alleged that putting DySP Kailash Dan under awaiting posting order' (APO) for communal clashes in Fatehgarh town of Jaisalmer is merely an "eyewash". "Kailash Dan was actually punished for his activeness in the haul of heroin. Otherwise, the action was absolutely uncalled for," Vyas added.
Meanwhile, sources said that Yar Mohammad has confessed while interrogation that he used to get Rs 20,000 for every smuggled packet of heroin. "He had earned around Rs 10.09 lakh by smuggling heroin from Pakistan," said Jaisalmer SP Vishnu Kant.

While, initially, Yar Mohammad had claimed that he could not deliver the consignment of 58 kg heroin as his mother died, the sources revealed that he told the interrogators that he did not make the delivery as he was demanding higher commission on each smuggled packet of heroin from Dadia, the Pakistan-based supplier.
"He was demanding that his commission on every smuggled packet of heroin should be increased to Rs 40,000. Besides, he did not get the commission for his last two consignments," confided a police officer.
